We are organizing V-Day in Cornwall.

It is being held on Saturday, March 6.  There will be a production of the theatre piece "Vagina Monologues" held that evening, at the Ramada Inn.

We are canvassing businesses to seek sponsorship.  As you might imagine getting sponsorship for this show has been challenging as many people in Cornwall are not familiar with VDay or the Vagina Monologues.

Ninety percent of our profits from the show on March 6, 2010 are going to Sexual Assault Support Services of SDG&A and ten percent are going to help the women and girls of The Democratic Republic of Congo.

We are approaching business owners for sponsorship in the form of purchasing advertising space in our event program. The money raised from sponsorship is being used to cover the costs of putting this show on so that all the money we raise from ticket sales and a raffle at the show can go to our beneficiaries. If anyone has any questions they can email me or Lisa at lisamontroy@sympatico.ca or call Lisa at 613 930 5094. We will be ending our fundraising drive in the next week or so to give our program designer and printer time to make the programs, so time is of the essence. The show is going to be held in the Simon Fraser Ballroom at the Ramada Inn in Cornwall. Tickets are $15 in advance, sold at Strung Out Guitars-601 Montreal Road, Cornwall and Seaway Valley Tourism-11 Water Street West, Cornwall, $20 at the door.
